I am JJ, now a 3CPE Postdoctoral Fellow at Caltech (2023–2026). I received my Ph.D. in Earth and Planetary Sciences from Harvard in 2023, with a secondary field in the History of Science, and was a recipient of the James Mills Peirce Fellowship.
Beyond planetary science, I also pursue occasional work in the history and philosophy of science and am currently writing about the rise of American mineral physics in the 1940s when geophysics met wartime emergency.
I currently live in Pasadena and may be reached at dong2j@caltech.edu.
