Prospective graduate students with strong interests in both physical chemistry and the planets are encouraged to get in touch by email. Applications go through the Department of Geosciences.
Prospective postdocs in mineral physics, petrology, geophysics, planetary science, or astrophysics are also welcome to contact me. Please send a CV and the names of your references. Fellowships such as the NASA Hubble Fellowship are another good route.
Experiment and theory each have a life of their own. In our group, we try our best to live in both: experimentalists learn some theory, and theorists go to the beamline and learn the instruments. Science has always grown from many places and traditions, so anyone who shares our curiosity and questions is welcome here. I meet regularly with each student and postdoc, and I support travel to beamtime and conferences.
